Anyway, I use all Osram Lumilux 865, 10 hours, 6 hours at 100%.
Have you tried say 8-9 hour time frames?
Run then at 0-100% for the 1st and last hour.
If the CO2 is set up correctly, the CO2 should go from 2-3ppm to 45-60ppm in the 1st hour, then drop off the latter hour at the end.

So the CO2 is on only 7-8 hours.

I've always used 10 hours so far. What do you think is the benefit if I use a reduced photoperiod? to be honest I'd like 12 hours....

I was even thinking of taking the light back to 70 umol again because it gives more wiggle room and I think even better results, although I'm not sure it will be enough for the L. peruensis.

L perunesis is rather tough IME. I've grow it in some rather low light conditions.
If you want the deep burgundy color, then the more light will help, but 5-70 should be okay.

I just seem to have better luck with less hours.
Good growth, but less algae etc.

Algae tend to go dormant in the winter in lakes/streams.........and once the light gets up 10 or more hours, then it starts to grow again.
Might be something to it, or nothing..........

Certainly worth a try. I'm curious to see what is the difference. Already cut back for one hour, like you said 1 hour 0-100% on both sides.

If you have the programmable ability, you can try all sorts of neat things like this.

BTW, I finally found the issue with the 70 Gal Woodagumi............one of the 1/8" FPT had actually broken...........right where the threads end and the smooth pipe length starts, never have I've seen this in all the Regulator CO2 builds, after the 4 th gas tank I took the whole thing apart and put back together, that is when I found it.
I fixed one damn issue with the tank threads and seals, then the solenoid, then when I tighten stuff up the last time, I likely created a small fracture in the metal.

    One issue after the other.

I think I could not grow HC, the weed...........then the UG was not taken off as fast as it should............but it's always something to do with CO2.
    Son of a gun.........

the programmable options are so endless I don't know what to do with mine! :S

right now its on for 10 hrs, a build up to 40% from 10 am to 12 pm, then it shoots up to 60% by 1 pm and back down to 40% by 2 pm; from 2 pm it fades to OFF by 8 pm.

My issues have been mostly CO2 with growing the HC and S. repens...can't seem to get it right. The stems have grown a lot and I think are sucking up quite a bit...time for a big trim. The HC looks rough and the repens has yet to recover from the initial melt. CO2 most likely, right?
