This is my first experience with a UV. My 12x, 36w came from a pet store in Alaska that was closing. The owner was selling all his left over merchandise on eBay. So, I got a new $200 UV very cheap as well. After it blew two ballasts and two bulbs, it wasn't cheap anymore. But, the WorkHorse 3 ballast fixed it right up.

I hope that you have a good experience with your new, UV.

    Hi guys,

Gosh, thank you very much for the concern. I am having a heck of a time with my severed quadriceps. My blood pressure fell really low at a doctor's appointment that has her office at the hospital. When she checked it, it was 80 over 40 and then it dropped to 40 over ?. She sent me to the emergency room where they checked my kidney function. They had quit working. While they weren't working, there was no regulation on my blood thinner. My blood thinner then made my blood very thin. It was leaking into where I had surgery. My upper right leg swelled up really big and tight. They got my blood pressure stable and my kidneys started working again. The doctor stuck a long needle into my right knee and drained some of the fluid out.

After several days they sent me back to rehab. I stayed there about three weeks and they sent me home the other day. While I was still in rehab, I had a MRI on my right knee and thigh. I got the results last week. The surgery wasn't a success. Where the tendon was reconnected to my thigh came loose. Some of the other places where it was tacked came loose too. Now, I am waiting on a specialist to go back in and fix it again.

This sure has been a hard time.

Unhappy Good Grief Char... I Mean Cecil...

    Hi Cecil,

    Sheesh!

Well I am glad to hear from you!

I am sorry to hear of all your medical problems and certainly wish you well…

I know from personal experience some of these “routine” things can seriously go awry, though once the specialists get involved they tend to be resolved. That is what we will look forward too!

Still it is miserable and disconcerting when you are the one going through it all…

As Gerry says, let us know if we can help.

And let us know what is happening, you are an important member of our community.

I'm home now for a while. I've had 7 operations on my right thigh and knee with the 8th coming next week. I have to wear a "wound vac" now. It sucks the liquids out of my wound and contributes to healing and closing up. I've been in the hospital for over a month totally and in rehab for 4 months. I was home between surgeries a little bit in July. BTW, had my first surgery on April 19.

My aquarium has gone bad. Its equipment was running this whole time on automatic pilot with the use of timers. My SGT500 with the Burkert solenoid and an Ideal needle valve on a 20# tank was still running at its original setting. The plants are mostly gone. Some strange plant choked everything out. Most of the fish and shrimp are around. My landlord fed them some. Anyway, I'll have to tear it down. Bummer!

    Hey,

Sorry to hear of all of these surgeries and medical issues. Hope the healing process can begin and you can get back to your more normal levels..

Yes, sucks that the tank went 'bad' but now provides an opportunuty for a fresh start? Perhaps a new direction or something you wanted to try?
    Thanks,

    Gerry.

Thanks Gerry. Sadly, I'm not going to be able to look after a tank for a while. I'm having trouble with walking and balance right now. The surgeon removed a huge chunk of my right thigh because it got infected with the MRSA bacteria. He had to or it would of been much worse in a short period of time. MRSA showed up in rehab about a week after my 3rd surgery.
