    2 co2 diffusers in a tank?

    Hi everyone,

I was just curious to know if it would be overkill to have 2 diffusers at each end of a tank? I have a 55g long and I just feel like the other side of the tank is not getting enough co2. Is that really the case? I'm not sure. I ordered a drop checker and it still hasn't arrived. I thought of using air splitter valve to do this. Let me know. Sorry for the stupid question.

    Thanks much,
    Simon

You don't really need it if there is enough flow to disperse the CO2 enriched water. Your tank is not that big. But if you feel it is going to make an improvement, it can't hurt either.

I Did and It Seemed to Help

I tried it and thought it was a big help. I have a 72 gallon bowfront. I was using dual Rhinox 5000 discs.
Bought a CO2 splitter, and used equal length tubing, noticed greener plants in the corners, got good results on the d/c.
But, got tired of doing the maintance, bought a oversized, inline reactor, hooked it up to the Eheim spraybar and never looked back.

I just added a Hydor Koralia Evolution 750 to my 75g and it has made a huge difference in circulation. About $35, and it was well spent. I would recommend that before getting into the complexity of having two CO2 diffusers.

I had a 55L and only one ADA Beetle 40 diffuser. Was enough. I did have two Eheim Pro-2 w/ spraybars to disperse to CO2 to all areas of the tank.
No problem getting co2 to above 40ppm with one diffuser in a tank that size.

IMO, plenty of co2 with one diffuser in a 55L.

Matt very nice tanks! I agree with Dutchy if you have proper flow one diffuser is plenty. Invest in a good pump like Hydor Korila, forgive the spelling, to move the CO2 to the spots you need it to go. I suggest placing your diffuser on one end and using a pump in the middle to move to the other end. Always worked for me.
    Thanks

Thanks! It's actually the same tank during different stages. I also agree with you guys when it comes to flow playing a key role in co2 distibution. I had two eheim pro-2s w/ spray bars on this tank. Helped with O2 and CO2 circulation.

Big Al's has the Hydor Koralia Evolution 750 on sale for about $27. Best price I have seen.
