An article by Diana Walstad on shrimp, DSM and soil non CO2 methods:

I think some might find a fair amount of use from the observations and conclusions.

You posted this article at the right moment for me. I have a 20 liter DSM setup in my garage with HC, pogostemon H. and Eleocharis acicularis (dwarf hairgrass right?). I had a failed bonsai but was left with the akadama (clay soil) in still good condition. So I covered the bottom of the 20L with a little layer of fine cocopeat soil and dumped the akadama on top of it. Took the plants and water from another tank.
The plants only get some evening sunlight (5 hours) trough a small window, but are doing fine and growing well.

I was planning to give this tank bio CO2, but I think I will start with floating plants first. I wonder how her DSM tanks and the carpet plants are doing at the moment??? Only results from 6 weeks after submerging doesn't say anything IMO.
