Stocking suggestion for German Blue Rams

I have a heavily planted 37 gallon tall tank. I have been trying to find stocking suggestions for german blue rams without much luck. I've had one electric blue female who has been doing great. I would like to add more. How many are adviseable for a tank my size?

Hi,

Rams are substrate dweller/spawners so the footprint is what is important.

What are the FLOOR dimensions? That is vital..

You need to ensure that each 'pair' or single fish has sufficient room and can get away and hide if harassed....

What Gerry D said is very true. I wouldn't put more than two pairs in there. Electric blues IME are hard to come by. They are very nice but I think I prefer the regular BGR better MPO!!! If you find them, they would go great with cardinal tetras!

I've found them and had one for a while. I also have a nice school of cardinals.

The floor dimensions are 30"x12", so it seems like 4 would be a good idea. a really big tank a better idea! (but not yet)

yeah for that size tank you need only two pairs! I just got lucky last week and snagged 8 juvies from my local aquarium society. They are in my 75 now but when they are older will move two pairs that pair off and place them in my 29gallon. They will be with a group of micro cory and rummynose tetras.

You may want to know that cories and most substrate fish/catfish are major annoyances to breeding apistos..

Just a thought.
