Thread: Pics of 2 kinds of atomic co2 diffusers at work.

  1. #1

Pics of 2 kinds of atomic co2 diffusers at work.

Pics of GLA and Hong Kong diffusers at wok:

    55mm GLA diffuser(20psi-Concoa reg):

    60mm GLA diffuser(20psi-Concoa reg):

HK diffuser(28psi-Victor reg). You can see this is not working properly:

I believe the reason for getting only 0.3-0.4 bps is that the HK diffuser is not good(the last two pics). And, out of three HK diffusers this is the one that "works" best.

What size tank is the GLA 60mm?
Would like to get a back up 65mm for my 110g tank.

    Hi,

55g standard. The 55mm is for the 30g breeder and the "HK" one is for the 10g.

    The pictures say it all.

    Thanks for this "graphic review".

  5. I have the HK one in my tank. When I switched to it I was really pissed because I couldn't get anything to come out of it. Then I switched all the tubing from airline to High Pressure CO2 tubing (the ada stuff but I'm sure it doesn't matter)... then bam.... millions of micro bubbles. I think it really needs to hit the 30psi before it will do anything. Only thing I would say... At least with my set up is it is hard to get small adjustments done.

In retrospect I would have gotten the GLA one but I saw this at the store I was at and like everything else I had to have it now :-)

Now the HK diffuser works better and I get almost 1 bps, a big jump from 0.3 bps. Maybe the longer it works the better it gets. I can see a lot more mist coming out this morning. Btw, I did not touch anything in 3 days
I am having my two Victors fixed by Orlando(RAOK) to be able to bump up the working pressure more than 28psi.

Oh, forgot to mention that I also changed the tubbing and got the same results. Anyway, I am waiting for a new GLA diffuser.

  7. Also one thing to note which I did not know... cause the instructions were all in Chinesse. You need to presoak these for before operation. At least the HK one. So what you said makes sense.

I like the GLA ones better. Btw, out of 3 HK ones only one is working for me. The GLA ones are all working.
