I just bought a Victor 450"D". I talked to a service guy at the local welding supply about changing out the springs and relief to convert it to a "B" model and he didn't think it should be a problem. I can also get a 0-60 psi gauge from McMaster-Carr for around $10. It has a 0-200 psi gauge on the low pressure side now.

I was wondering if anyone had thoughts about the benefits.

    Thanks

0-20 PSI (model F10/2) output or 0-140 PSI (model F15-2)

So should I take the 0-140 PSI? Here is the translated link http://translate.google.com/translat...t-LabLine.html

Hope you guys can give any thoughts about this choice...

    Hi Koen

    Those are some expensive regulators!

I want to double check something. Do you have the specs for these two regulators reversed? The F15/200's low pressure gauge goes from 0-1,5 bar and the F10/2 200's goes from 0-10 bar.

    F15/200
    Eingangsdruck max: 200 bar
    Ausgangsdruck: 0 - 1,5 bar regelbar or 22 psi
    208,00 EUR

    F10/2 200
    Eingangsdruck max: 200 bar
    Ausgangsdruck: 0 - 10 bar regelbar or 145 psi
    296,00 EUR

    I used 1 bar = 14.5 psi

Which one should you get? One's output is a little low while the other one's output is a little high. Either will work. I'd get the cheaper one. Below are some thoughts.

Many people run 0.3 to 1.4 bar. One of your aquariums is running at 80 bubbels per minuut, I believe. The 0 to 1,5 bari model should be fine.

If you use the 0 to 10 bar model you might only be using up to around 2.5 bar or the first few hash marks on the gauge.

One of my Victors has a 0 to 14 bar range. It holds its low pressure setting just fine. More than likely the 0 to 10 bar model would too.

    Hi Pat

I would make it into a "B" model and use the 0-60 psi gauge if it isn't too expensive.

Also some nice Swaglok check valves floating around,. but the clippards are nice and then there's some Asian vendors selling brass/steel check valves for about 4-5$ ea including shipping.

Yep, I am gonna pick up a few of those barbed brass/steel check valves from the vendors you mentioned Tom.

Also I found chrome-plated brass Swagelok medium-flow angled valves with 1/4" tube fittings, or they can be adapted to npt with the adapters Left C linked previously in this thread. You are not going to believe the price! Looks like there is a lot to go around.

That's a heck of a nice deal. This B-4MA valve lists for $56.69.

Here are some Swagelok Tube Fittings, Female Tube Adapter, 1/4 in. Tube OD x 1/8 in. Female NPT:
    SS $7.90: http://www.swagelok.com/search/produ...rt=SS-4-TA-7-2
    Brass $2.36: http://www.swagelok.com/search/produ...art=B-4-TA-7-2

These are some Swagelok Tube Fittings, Male Tube Adapter, 1/4 in. Tube OD x 1/8 in. Male NPT:
    SS $5.54: http://www.swagelok.com/search/produ...rt=SS-4-TA-1-2
    Brass $2.16: http://www.swagelok.com/search/produ...art=B-4-TA-1-2

EDIT: These are the parts if you want to use a solenoid with 1/8" female NPT ports and a JBJ bubble counter with an 1/8" female NPT port. I listed both male and female adapters. This way you can choose how that you want to build the regulator.

Have you guys seen the Ideal needle valves with the Vernier Micrometer Handle? I should have the pricing soon.
brass V 52-1-12: (note that the picture doesn't actually show the Vernier handle) http://idealvalve.thomasnet.com/item...-1136?&seo=110

    B-2MA2 metering valve

Swagelok has a chrome plated brass valve for ~ $60 that is not listed in their catalog. It is basically like the SS-2MA2.
    http://www.swagelok.com/search/produ...x?part=SS-2MA2

Notice that it has 1/8” male NPT threads.

Here is the Ideal 52-1-12 valve. Notice that it has 1/8” female NPT threads.

The angle valve with male threads actually needs two less adapters than the one’s with female threads. These valves with female threads usually use two male nipples to attach the solenoid and JBJ bubble counter.

Went ahead and ordered the gauge. Found the spring here http://www.industriallive.com/category-s/751.htm for $15.63 plus shipping. They seem to have the best overall selection for Victor parts. Just search on their site for "Victor ####-####" for the Victor part number you need.

My welding supply service guy said he could get the work completed for the one hour minimum charge of $28.00. I'm going to see how well I do with the lower range gauge first. Just have to make sure I don't let the outlet presure get too high and peg the gauge needle.
