Some interesting facts about this cool looking wood!

"Some aquarium keepers use sandblasted manzanita as driftwood in planted aquaria because of its attractive forked growth and its chemical neutrality. If properly cleaned and cured, it holds up well over extended periods of submersion. The wood is also resistant to the leaching of tannins into the water column, a problem often found with other aquarium driftwoods. When used as driftwood, manzanita must often be either weighted down for several weeks or soaked first to counteract the wood's natural buoyancy."

"Some manzanita species are among the rarest plants in the world. Arctostaphylos hookeri subsp. ravenii (also known as Presidio manzanita) is the most endangered and restricted plant in the mainland United States. In 1987 only one specimen remained, at a secret location in the Presidio of San Francisco National Historic Landmark District in San Francisco, California. This plant has since been successfully cloned. "

While a few species are rare, the one mentioned, most are far from it.
We have tons.

If you bought perhaps 500$ worth, I might sell some.
Otherwise it's not worth my time or hassle.

I offered some to a large club as favor.
And this is for a client.

So unless you buy like a truck load for 500$, don't ask
Don't PM, etc. I'm not in the driftwood business.

It goes quick.
I'm about 80% done already.
Watered and re enriched my lawn while I was at it.

I'll have more later and might sell some, but ti will not be a regular thing ever.
Mostly just leftovers from other projects.

Sorry, I'm late with this, but I have also seen "natural" looking birdcage pirches commonly labeled as Manzanita. I even use a few for my finches. Are they the same?
