Removing snap ring on a CO2 tank Cyliner Plastic Handle

I also posted this thread on TPT.

I just cant find a correct size of snap ring plier needed to remove a snap ring that secured the CO2 cylinder tank plastic handle.
I think this plastic carrying handle only comes on 10lb or 15lb & 20lb cylinder tank.

The outside dia. is about 2-3/4".
    Here's what it looks like.

Hi, The pliers work on the two small holes closest together. The pliers open when you squeeze them and this opens the snap ring so it can be removed...
    Thanks,

    Gerry.

    Thanks for the reply.

Do you know what size of snap pliers to look for?
Im trying to get this on ebay since new and larger ones are expensive.

Here's the size info for the Snap ring.

Should be the 3/8 size at the top. You need pliers that can span the size of the top. The pliers will squeeze the top closer which will open the lower portion. Make sense?
    Thanks,

    Gerry.

If you don't want to buy the pliers for a one shot use, you can try threading a loop of mono-filament or metal wire through each of the holes and then pulling it apart.

CAUTION-don't use your fingers to pull on the mono-filament/wire-wrap each side around a piece of wood or screw driver handle or it can cut you by digging into your skin.

  6. Just take your cylinder to a local mechanic. He'll have the right sized snap ring pliers and would be able to tell you what size they are.
