Substrate Selection

Hello guys will be starting my second planted setup in time ahead and am confused about which substrate to use. I have two options New Amazonia and DIY(Laterite+Soilrite+Humus+2mm sand gravel topping)

Now my query is will this DIY recipe be good to grow most of the plants?

Also what will be real difference between the Amazonia and DIY substrate?

Rich clay sediment works fine with a sand cap. This does not need to be a complicated thing.

Rice paddy soils etc........go to where they have them if possible and bring a bucket a shovel and dig a few shovel's full.
Plenty of Basmati rice in India. Whether you are close to that or not? Quite another matter.
