Thread: Victor Regulator Venting Co2 via Pressure Relief Valve

  1. Victor Regulator Venting Co2 via Pressure Relief Valve

I've got a 2 gauge Victor regulator Model LA64666. The 2nd gauge is set to about 10 psi.
This morning all was well. I come home to find it's venting through the pressure relief valve and I don't know why. Room temp is 82F. Initial filled pressure 850 psi at something less than the present temp. Pressure this morning was approaching 1000 psi.

BTW, I thought it might be because the 2nd gauge was set at 10 psi and the pressure from the ambient room temp caused it to exceed that pressure and vent. With that in mind I turned it back on and tried to adjust the regulator. What I observed is the 2nd gauge now reading 100 psi.

If anyone knows what's going on please let me know.

If you can't get it repaired locally, http://www.regulatortorchrepair.com/ can fix it.

Sounds like a blown diaphragm. I had two regulators rebuilt by http://www.regulatortorchrepair.com. I recommend them.
