Lighting my 120 Cascade tank (positioned in bay window)

My new project this 120 Do!aqua waterfall tank it sits in this NNW facing bay window and right now it's in dry start mode being misted twice daily and I am using one 150 watt ADA MH NAG light on the set up that go on for 8 hours a day. My goal is to use this MH light as an initial lighting device for the dry start and ideally my Lon term goal is to go Lo tech LED and utilize the abundance of natural light coming in from the bay windows. Has anyone had any experience with tanks with Nolan abundance of natural
Light and the pros and cons?. I know algae can be an issue with tanks exposed to sunlight in windows etc. Hoping the Co2 will counterbalance that issue.

Hi,

Without knowing where you are, it is hard to help.

If you are in the northern part of the northern hemisphere (say 40^th parallel up) the NNW, orientation is not a problem. Drapes, shades and shears can regulate the light that is what I do.

I rather like the metal halide up high, I cannot tell from the picture where you have the light now. I do not have the experience with LED’s to know if the same thing can be accomplished.
