    DIY Custom Filter Setup Thingy

    Hi,
I have been reading the forums for a while and I need some advice from you very knowledgeable folks.

I am drawing up some plans for a DIY external filtration setup.

So far I am thinking that I would like to build a wet/dry filter, external heater, dosing pump, probe array (more of an accuse to play with electronic than anything else!) and a CO2 reactor.

The tank I will be installing this on is a small 10g tank (prototype tank before upscalling to my bigger tank). I plan on drilling the tank to incorporate an overflow system to feed the filter setup. I have never drilled a tank before so I will probably end up breaking it and getting a pre drilled one! I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

Specifics aside I am trying to work out the order of the equipment within the setup, so far I have this in my head but I would love to hear you opinions/advice:

    Tank Overflow>>>Wet/Dry Filter>>>Dosing Pump>>>Return Pump>>>CO2 Reactor>>>Heater(s)>>>Probe Array>>>Tank Outlet

Do you think I should try and oxygenate it as well or just create some surface movement within the tank?

    Hi,

    Welcome!

    Sounds like a plan…

Wet/dry filters tend to be well oxygenated.

    Damn!

Thanks Bio getting a better idea of where i am going with this now.

As predicted I broke the glass!
It was going well untill I lost my patience with it and applied to much pressure. Never mind its all a good learning experience.

I should be picking up a new tank this weekend and making a custom built stand for it.
Then I can get back to playing with water!
