Still available! I believe this is quite competitive relative to the Ideal valve.

I've never had any plants pearl in my tank and I get great growth including HC and right now there's no algae except dust on the glass. Pearling isn't really important as far as I can tell.
Lots...
All equipment listed below is in Never-Used condition.

Looks good so far!
I enjoyed watching the fiddling of the substrate/hardscape in the setup video.
The 4dKH is in order to take your aquarium water out of the equation, stick with the normal PH indicator.
My issue with flow isn't having enough pumping capacity, it's directing it around properly. I have 2 x Eheim 2217s in a 40 breeder and even still, it's a big tradeoff when I aim the spraybars (4...
Does dechlorinator such as a Prime, which contains products for detoxifying (presumably by binding up in a chelator) heavy metals interfere with CSM+B?
I know the effects don't last forever (ie,...
I think you'll be very happy with that T5NO lighting and CO2. Good growth, carpet plants thrive, and manageable algae issues. I have the same as you, 2 of the 2 bulb fixtures, though my tank is a...
Yup another user says his stem looks precisely the same.
As that's really a "stem cover" and not a stem anyway (the stem and spring are inside, moved via electromagnetic force by the solenoid...
Hopefully someone is able to use that method above instead of a whole-sale solenoid changeout if they experience electrical related difficulties.
It's tempting just to buy a whole new assembly...
New coil slid on no issue and my tank is up and running again : )
Glad I did that instead of taking apart all the piping etc when it wasn't necessary to get invasive

I did get it off after all that tugging. Visually I can not determine if the stem or the coil was the swollen part causing the interference.
I just got the new one in the mail and it only took me...
In the words of Rex Grigg, I "got manly with it"... now my shoulder is going to be killing me in a couple of hours but I got the darn thing off!
I don't really see what was making it lock up,...
I did look at that thread but I am interested in removing the coil (which says "Burkert" on the white label on it) from the body of the valve itself.
To use his picture below, I want to take this...
Hm I am having some trouble removing the solenoid from the brass valve body. I got it about 1/4" off. I don't want to force it if it's not supposed to come off but also don't want to disassemble my...
How much do you want and are top-clippings OK?

OK so a short while after the above posts, I discovered the problems of squirting a lot of snoop into an electrically powered solenoid.

I can just unscrew...
Great thanks all!
I saw an o-ring in the drawing in the manual (didn't take off the nut and remove solenoid though) so I wasn't sure

Burkert 6011 Solenoid question...
Today while moving stuff around in my cabinet I noted that I can rotate the solenoid portion of my Burkert valve (the black assembly on top of the brass "box"...
Hello all - related question to the OPs set up, if it needs a new post I can make one:
Is it OK to have a 1 to 1.5 inch layer of "Play Sand" (from home depot/etc) on top of MTS? What about on top...
Latest issue of Tropical Fish Hobbyist made me realize my Elodea isn't "leggy" - it just converted to the submersed form. I hadn't realized it could have that dramatic a conversion. Just an FYI for...
I might get a custom catalina, 4 bulbs with the center-to-center of the outermost bulbs being 8" apart for my tank, but only because I want to put a small-mesh screen above my tank to prevent jumpers...
I'm using 2 x dual-bulb T5NO lights from Coralife - HC filling in nice, stems grow quick and little-to-no algae! Just another option out there

Not tom but - I suck on the end of mine for 2 seconds and stick it in the tub to drain. I use a water bed pump to my kitchen faucet to refill. I get the water to between 70-80 and don't worry much...
