I tried a terrestial plant fertilizer called nutricot in my aquarium as substarte fertilizer and has no problem with it. maybe because it is inserted in the substrate and that it is slow release.

I've seen a filter media for canister filter that says "resin filter". It looks like a bioballs but claims to remove organic waste, etc. ever heard of resin filter before? does it work?
