Mercworx knives are made a single knife maker that does all of the fitting, sanding, and fabrication by hand. They are designed as fighting knives for professionals in the field. Mercworx knives are better made and more highly finished than the works of many of the other craftsmen out there. The larger knives manufactured by the company are formed of quarter inch thick steel called 154cm, and you can also choose to upgrade to the S30V steel. 154cm is the best steel for hard used knives. Because of the thickness of the blades, even the smallest of the knives will produce a large wound. By choosing to fine sand the blades rather than bead blasting, you will find that this makes the knife easier to clean.

These knives are quite impressive because of the manufacturers overall design and attention to detail. The design, feel and balance of the knives are outstanding. The Mercworx sniper, vorax, equatorian and orion feature Mercworx's unique thumb ramp on the top of the knives. This way the blade will not cut your palm when you push against an object. The knives have protrusions that will keep your hand from sliding foreword. The handle sports standard black micarta wood that is fixed to the handle, and will deal with sub-zero temperatures. The big surface area of the blade makes for better chopping and prying due to the added weight and strength.

They have a smooth handle because it serves as both a comfortable tool in your hand and provides firm retention during confrontations. Rather than bother choosing just one of those qualities, Mercworx spent much time designing a handle that works both ways. Mercworx knives have the radius thumb stop, to make the knives more usable. The user will be able to wield the knife in the extended saber grip by pushing on the stop to align the blade with the centerline of his forearm. The knife will feel as though it were an extension of your forearm. The flared tip on the knives blades are designed that way to produce damage when it penetrates. A hollow point bullet performs the same way.
