where to get CO2 regulators, tanks and equipment locally thread! - 11-19-2007, 05:53 PM

This is an on going thread, more than one source is encouraged to be posted here!

River City fire in West Sacramento sells very cheap CO2 gas tanks, are friendly, will refill any sized tank for you, test pressure test them if need be etc.
Average cost is about 15$ to refill and about 50$ for a filled 10-20lb tank.

2419 Sellers Way
West Sacramento, CA , 95691-3025
Phone: 916-374-8295

CO2 regulators: I like Victor, they are the best brand available.
Victor small, low volume medalist brand on ebay run about 60$.
You will need to remove the outlet and add a 1/4" to 1/8" reducing brushing(brass) to add a needle valve to the regulator or add several 1/8" Tees for multiple CO2 enriched tanks or sources with independent control off a single regulator and gas tank.

VICTOR 0781-1123 CO2 FLOWGAUGE REGULATOR MIG TIG - (eBay item 330187640012 end time Nov-19-07 12:00:00 PST)

I personally like the Fabco valves(Dave Gomberg sells these) and the ones from Aqua Cave.

High Quality CO2 Needle Valve - AquaCave
CO2 Equipment for Planted Aquarium Tanks

Better than the Clippards.

Group buys help reduce shipping cost BTW!!

Palm Beach County, FL area.

Deerfield Beach Fire Equipment
1111 SW 1st Way
Deerfield Beach, FL 33441

(954) 428-7778

Cost is about the same as Tom mentioned. I bought a used 10 lb there a couple of years back and have had no issues. Quick service, right off I95 exit.

Not exactly local to SAPS, as it's in Florida.
Is it still about the same with shipping?

Hi ringram,
If you refer to my post on buying a used one, I don't know if they ship or not.

I guess you could call and ask....Pretty sure they are M-F biz only FYI...I don't think they can ship a filled bottle, I think it can be dangerous in transit and there are fed requlations?

Worth a call. What/where is 'SAPS'?

Please PM me as I don't want to take up this thread

Sorry, I have not made the SAPs forum closed with a password, I may do this to keep it local.

In a way I prefer it be open - so new members can get here easily. But, as it is, if you click the "new posts" link you get these posts along with those in the rest of the forums, and that isn't likely to work well.

I'm thinking we need to keep the Yahoo Group as an entry door, so to speak, but get everyone to do the group communicating by coming here. We can store PDF files on Yahoo Group and we need that too.

Okay, so you folks want it left open then?

Your guy's call.

Now, back to local CO2, light, and nutrients.

I guess it's been a while since the last post, but I would say to keep it open. No hurt in others learning or contributing as well.

For those wondering, SAPS = Sacramento Aquatic Plant Society

Thanks Gerryd, this is about a 15 min drive from me so ideal. Reasonable price as well. Thanks.
