Due to my laziness lately I was able to observe what's gonna happen if Glosso was left alone in the tank growing for several weeks without giving it a trim. I let it grow up to 15 cm or 6 inches before I removed the heap. As you can easily see from the pics even if the plant had developed many layers it did not die down near the substrate where it's gotten very little light.

What I learned from this lesson was:

- Glosso turns a yellowish white in near darkness but does not die given the right conditions
- Glosso can grow even when it receives only very little light
- Glosso should be pruned back when it reaches about 5 cm or 2 inches in hight otherwise it turnes into an ugly yellowish/whitish color

BTW Glosso was raised in ADA AS, KNO3 and KH2PO4 daily plus a fertilizer mesh bag placed in the canister leaching minute amounts of nutrients into the water column on a permanent basis.

You can spot minor BGA somewhere in the substrate. It did not bother the plants nor me.

looks quite effective

Time to switch to another weed that does not grow so fast.
I consider it a fairly decent low light foreground plant.
Then it does not grow so weedy.

I recently removed all of the glosso from my tank. It was growing like yours and would have taken more of my time (pruning) than all of the other plants combined. My lighting is just too high (about 4 wpg) for my 50G tank, at least with respect to glosso.
