Can someone ID the background grassy plant? - 05-20-2008, 03:35 AM

I am having trouble identifying the background grassy plant in this layout. It looks "finer" than Eleocharis montevidensis as the tank appears to be an ADA 60-P, and E.m. would be thicker I think.

Any ideas?

Looks like Eleocharis for sure, probably E.vivipara. There are over 150 species but not all grow that tall or do as well fully submersed. I think vivipara is the common one going around now for backgrounds, but I may easily be wrong. I believe it also has a tendency to branch off half way up the stem which seems to be happening here.

I think so. Looking up E. vivipara on Google Images, it seems to match as close as I can figure. Never had that plant before, I think I'll try some out. I like it's "soft texture"...
