HI guys. I've been spending way too much time trying to find the best T5 3foot 150-250watt set up for my soon to be made 50 gallon. I was originally excited about the nova but heard about the loud fans. Then researched orbit, Tek, etc and just don't know what to choose. I want to do it right the first time and am willing to pay to get it right. Please send me your advice. Thanks

Check Fishneedit on Ebay. He has good stuff for super cheap.

250 watts of T5 light for a 50 gallon tank is, to put it mildly, too much light. I don't know any benefit to using that much light. Even 150 watts, using T5 bulbs, each with its own reflector, is more than is useful. So, I suggest changing your search to a goal of the best 90 to 120 watt T5 fixture.
