What is a safe ph adjuster for a planted tank ?

CO2 is the safe "pH adjuster", but it only adjusts the pH down. You don't need to worry about pH unless you have a very unusual setup, where you absolutely need low pH or high pH for breeding purposes. I never measure pH of my water - I have no idea what it is.
