I kept vallisnerias in my tank for quite awhile while occasionally dosing Excel, sometimes at 1.5 times the recommended doses. The first time I did that the vals melted, but they grew back pretty quickly and didn't seem to be bothered by the Excel again. That wasn't V. nana though, it was the short spiral variety.

I melted Vallisneria Americana variety with Excel and Egeria Densa as well.
On the other hand, my Vallisneria Nana is not affected at all

One more thing about Excel, if you pour it directly or near the plant you will burn even Anubias, without overdosing. I did

I also grow Vallisneria Americana with Excel at 2x daily amount. Started with one plant and now have four.
