Substrate for 180 - 06-04-2007, 07:11 PM

Thx for the quick reply on the filtration system and lighting. Now, that I've got you cut off and surrounded, the substrate. Been following the posts about ADA soil testing, and other additional posts pertaining to substrates. My need is an adequate substrate for a discus, planted 180 aquarium. I've used onyx sand and flourite in a 75, and found I prefer the onyx sand because of its inherently better (to me) planting capability. But is there a better substrate for these particular conditions, and could you recommend an average substrate depth ? And, how is Tom's super sand coming along ?
Thx in advance.

Walter
