My source water has a ph of approx 6.2, a gh of <1 and a kh of <3. If I add it to a container containing nothing but the florabase substrate, the ph climbs to 7.7. The florabase packaging states that the product buffers at approx 6.8. Does anyone have any ideas as to why the ph is climbing so high? I can decrease the ph with CO2 but I have to use a lot.
