I am sure I am mistaken in this, but they mostly come from free silicates in solution, so stop messing with the gravel as much. And the cute otocinclinicus (sp) is a great devourer of it.

Yeah I know but I had to do a major rescape so I had to mess with the gravel. Do mollies or platies eat this type of algae?
