Reducing Light When Traveling...? - 03-19-2007, 01:25 AM

I plan on traveling for ~2 weeks time (I will miss one water change) and wanted to see if anyone takes any additional steps when they are unable to fertilize. I can have someone feed the fish for me, but I don't know if I should leave the fertilization to them as well...

I was thinking of cutting the light period by 50% while I was gone to slow the whole process down. Anyone think this is a good idea, or have any other suggestions?

I could give a "training session" (and detailed directions) on the ferts. if it is just going to better that way. Transition of water change responsibility is out of the question.

Cheers,
John

Use something like an ice cube tray with labeled sections for the ferts, add these on Tues, these on Thur and these on Sat etc.

Have them make sure they top off the water for evaporation.
Feed fish , dump in the contents of the ferts.

For the liquid traces, just add the mls each time.
Have them dose the same day, the traces/macros etc
