I saw this today at Petco. Has anyone ever tried this in a planted tank? It appears to be made by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals.

This is the first I have heard of this material, but it does look like it could be used in an aquarium. The grain size might not be acceptable though. And, it says nothing about what it looks like. I Googled to find the Aquarium Pharmaceuticals site and read up on it. I didn't see a cost for it, either.

It was 10.00 for a 10 lb bag. The problem is that the bag is a sealed colored bag and you cannot see what the substrate looks like. I have not even been able to see what it looks like on the web and I have done a bit of searching. If you read about it it looks like it would work in an aquarium but then again, they're trying to sell it.

50lbs of SM is 17$ and looks good.
I'd go with that or ADA soil or maybe flourite if you want no pH impact.
