  • ***FREE "Aquatic Conservation in Brazil" Lecture*** - Presented by GSAS (Seattle)

he Greater Seattle Aquarium Society (GSAS) is pleased to sponsor a free lecture Jen Reynolds, Senior Aquarium Biologist at the Vancouver Aquarium. Jen has travelled to Brazil to learn more about aquatic conservation in the region. An exploratory journey up the Rio Negro in the heart of the Amazon rainforest revealed the incredible aquatic biodiversity in South American rivers, while a visit to the busy city of Belo Horizonte in South-eastern Brazil shed light on some of the conservation issues in the region. Jen's talk will introduce you to some of the incredible fishes that call Brazil home, and focus on what Brazilians are doing to protect their natural resources- and what we can do at home to help.

The lecture will be next Tuesday, January 11th, 2010 at 7:30PM at Seattle Pacific University; Otto Miller Hall; Room 109; West Nickerson Street and 3rd Avenue West

Doors will open around 7:10PM; the meeting will start at about 7:30PM

The lecture will be followed by a short auction

Open to the public, no entrance fee
Family friendly but no childcare provided
Free parking, accessible building, no furry or feathered pets
