I have 10gal tank, which is probably 8 gal once you count out the substrate and things. I have two dwarf puffers currently, but they are boring. They're cool when they come out, but thats a big "when". So I probably have about 2 "fish gallons" left depending on how you calculate it, since the DP's seem to need 3 gallons per fish. Any suggestions for really cool tank mates?

School of tiny fish or a few different zones type fish.
Rasboras, smaller tetras, killifish are great, pretty too.
Algae eaters are always good, Shrimp, Otto cats etc.

The only thing I'm not sure of is how Dwarf Puffers will react with other fish.

My DP's have proven to be chicken so far, contrary to their so defined aggresive nature. I was just looking for general suggestions - something to talk about. I'll research compatability issues before I make a choice. The way things are now, my tank may as well just have plants. I only see my DP's when they freak out while I do a water change.

Well, then try another fish.

Killifish are great and pretty breedable etc
Local killi clubs tend to have all the species and much cheaper than a LFS.

Dwarf puffers need 5 gallons per puffer, I tried to keep 3 in a 10 gallon and the smallest was killed, you need atleast a 15 gallon for three and even still it must be densly planted to prevent the DP's seeing eachother too often. In your tank I would not suggest having any other fish, however, if you feel you must perhaps a trio of oto's or a pair of Khuli loaches would be OK. DP's IME seem to attack any midwater to topwater fish or with flowing fins so the choice for tankmates is limited. If you do decide on more fish, make sure you have regular maintenance on the tank, even DP's on their own produce a lot of waste.

Ya, I read that too. There is alot of conflicting information out there for DP's. After owning them, I'm not sure what to think. They totally hang out together, and have been since I got them.
