When I shall start dosing ? - 01-07-2008, 05:44 PM

He there.

Im actually new to this hobby (my aold aqua tank was more then 10 years ago :-)

Now i have practicly everything to start my new tank (125х50х50 cm):
Tank,co2, filtration, light (aprox 1,2 watt per liter)
My question is: I want to start dosing using EI, taking into account that it will be new tank start - when I shall start dosing and in which concentrations (actualy I read about concentrations, if it different for existing cucled tank and for new one).

Thanks a lot
Larry

Sort of depends on how much plant biomass you have, that's a lot of light though.
More light+More plants= more nutrient uptake= more growth etc.

You can dose right away if you have decent bacterial cycling and good plant biomass.

Tom,

Thanks for a quick answer.
Actually now, after your reply and searching here in form I think that 1,2 wat/l it's alot. :-) Actually I have not a lot of biomass yet., but want to grow glosso or hc
Actually now Im in front of choice with lighting. I doubt between 2 MH 150wt light and T5 light.4x54wt or 6x 54wt.
- I doubt about T5 cause my tank is 125 cm and most T5 lamps are 115 cm (120max with pendant) Is it will be suitable if I will have 5 cm of no light form each side.
I doubt about MH cause with it I will have no variation choice in lighting and inspector (only 150 wt or 300wt)

So what is your suggestion in my stupid situation.

regards
Larry
