Just wanted to check. Is it typical for the drop checker color to be hard to see? Every time i see a photo is clearly visible. Mine is almost see through. It does have a slight green hue but its not dark green by far. It was quite dark blue when i first put the mixture in. Also i do have a 4dkh from a online retailer so i know my solution is good. Only other guess i have is that the red sea stuff is not bromie blue. Anyone else see this in theirs?

They can be hard to determine the color. Using a white background can help.

DIY tip to determine drop checker color

I find the longer the solution is in the bulb, the dimmer the green color is. And, of the colors it can assume, green seems to be the dimmest even when the solution is new. You can add an extra drop of pH reagent ( bromothymol blue indicator solution) to the bulb and that darkens the colors a little.

I find that when it starts to go from green towards yellow, it gets a lot lighter and harder to see. My rule of thumb is, if I can see the color really well, I need more co2.
