Excel vs co2 in low light tanks - 07-31-2008, 12:55 AM

In a low light tank, say 1.5 - 2.0 wpg does co2 have any advantage over excel with respect to the variety of plants which can be grown ? I assume that for a given level of light co2 will produce higher growth rates.
