The CO2 reactor wheel venturi - 03-19-2008, 04:55 AM

In my weird on going obsession with CO2 diffusion and measurement, I've decided to try some new methods for both measuring CO2 as well as flow through reactors.

It uses an in line needle wheel pump that dices up the CO2 along with a typical 2" PVC Reactor tube.

The needle wheel grinds up any collection in the top of the reactor tube.
This maintains the pressure inside the reactor tube and creates a mist.
Somewhat like a recirculating skimmer does.

I'll post some pics later.

Regards,
Tom Barr

Does this mean combining two ideas? Making a reactor that contains the dual venturi, with needlewheel rotor pump inside the tube? Pictures and sketches should be fascinating!

Since I have no idea what a recirculating skimmer is, I haven't the slightest idea how this will work or look.

So you could basically have a totally separate system for CO2 with in/out flow in the tank? Or would you have it connected in line with your filters? Sounds like this would be crazy efficient!
