Any experience with a Kent Marine venturi? - 12-31-2006, 08:04 PM

I just bought a Kent Marine Turbo Venturi and I'm going to place it in line with my Eheim. I'd appreciate any advice people may have about using one for CO2 injection. Here's a link to the model I bought: https://www.petsolutions.com/Turbo+V...I-C-28-C-.aspx

Initially, I'll probably place it after the filter to avoid potential problems with noise, filter gaskets and effects on the biofilter that Tom and Richard bring up in my thread on using an Eheim as a reactor.

Thanks,

-Russ

These are fairly cheap and a few folks have used thenm, although many that have used this particular method have mainly used the best mazzii venturi valves they could find.

I opted for those rather than these cheaper alternatives, but folks are certainly going to try these in lieu.

Well, I finally blundered into the thread on Mazzei venturis under 'Articles.' That was a good read - only now I want one of them fancy Mazzei venturis.

Well 17$ vs 35$ is what you are talking about.
I have no issue with it.

It's the method and theory I like.
I use these for large gaint tanks with amazing results.
So does MBA.

Here's a mundane question, but one I could use some help on. The gas nipple on the Kent venturi is 1/4" but my CO2 system is set up for and I'm using 3/16" tubing. Is there a simple way to make the connection?

They sell hard nylon adaptors at Home Depot for less than 1$.

Bring the 1/4" and the CO2 tubing with you also to the hardware store.

Where can you find Mazzei Venturi Injectors for 35$?
Seems more like 17$ vs 76$ (1/2"). Not an exact comparison as the 76$ does include a check valve on the gas inlet.
