Well I just went out and bought the parts for the reactor for about $10 plus $7 in hose....at least this thing is cheap, but I still wish I had more patience

I find your thoughts about the drop checkers suprising. Could you explain a little more why you don't have any faith in them. Is it the solution in the checker, the placement in the tank, pH solution, or all three??

I'm now stuck in what I should do with my CO2. Right now I feel like I'm pumping in way too much CO2 to get my drop checker to read green and even still my plants are not pearling like I think they should. My options - just leave things how they now and see what happens, or cut down the bps and observe what happens, or experiment with the reactor/venturi, or do something with the drop checker. Hmmm.

The problem with a drop checker is that the ppm of CO2 varies so much from spot to spot in a planted tank that a single reading, even if very accurate, which a drop checker isn't, doesn't mean as much as we thought it did. Tom's checks of CO2 in his big tank with an accurate CO2 meter gave much bigger variations in concentration than I would ever have thought possible. And, that tank had good water circulation compared to most tanks.

Read CO2 in situ meter measurements, real time data on localized CO2 ppm readings - Aquarium Plants - Barr Report for more details. This is a very open subject for now.

Can I get a little more detail on how to hook up the needle wheel pump application?

1) how would I plumb it? Like how would I get the CO2 to the intake? Just run it into a short piece of PVC on the intake?

2) Does the pump move water already in the sump or does it take water out of the tank and put it in the sump?

3) How many GPH would I want for a 150-180g using the needle wheel in the sump?

My goal is to have as little stuff as possible in my tank

Ok, found my answers in Another method for CO2 diffusion: needle wheel powerheads

New question.

If using the venturi in a sump. Does the powerhead draw water from the sump, essentially recirculating water thats already there? Or does it draw water from the tank and pump it into the sump?

How many GPH would I need to push a venturi on a 150-180 gallon tank?

Thanks guy's I did built one a couple of years ago I use this forum : Survey for External CO2 Reactor Users
I used the Polycarbonate tube just like the plan, It work out good with a Mag 2 Pump and a Mag 5 Pump. I have been running the AM1000 Reactor with Mag 5 on my 110g I don't get enough circulation so now I'm planing of upgrading my pump to 1190gph, If I plan to rebuilt another Reactor, My first Reactor i did was a 2x12 tube, with a higher pump should i go with a 3x24 tube.

It's the only Mod that i saw some one due to a AM1000 Reactor
