Interesting -- and interesting also is that the various descriptions (how to do it, why its needed, what occurs) is considerably more accurate than many much more recent things I have read.

Yes, sadly much information is written only to be rediscovered many decades later. Seems it takes a couple of decades just get a method or a routine into this hobby on most fronts.

By that time, more research has been done and the knowledge is outdated.
There's often a lag time of 5-10 years.
In this case, about 30 years for DIY and about 10+ years prior to Dupla's claim to be the first ones to suggest adding CO2 to increase plant growth in the hobby.

Clearly, that claim was not researched....... impying they alone... came up with it. Perhaps marketing it in the hobby, but not the innovation of adding to increase plant growth underwater.
