Yeah this is another of those why you should quarantine everything!:)

It's known issue for people in this hobby around South East Asia
about insecticide in aquatic plants from farms. So most will not
put plants into their tanks without preparation.

Generally plant nurseries will keep the plants until the chemical
expires before shipping. But...

There was an incident where a CRS keeper bought a pack of
"organic lettuce" to feed her shrimp and ended up with a disaster.
It turned out that the lettuce was full of insecticide.
