Gloss is about 2, maybe 3x as aggressive as HC.

I would not mow it too low though, just leave a single layer of leaves.
Do not wait for it to pile up too much also.

I've posted many old threads about prune methods for carpeting plants.

I've done square cuts out of the rug, then the sides fill in.
Also, cut/trim at a 30-45 degree angle in spots to thin things down without mowing the entire thing.

You can be very selective at a small scale also, or a large one if you have the patience. Trim each stem/leaf off.
Never try and replant those 1/2 pulled up runners, trim them out with scissors!

It's Gloss, you know it'll grow back fast! The remaining plant does not need roots so much.....so they will grow leaves faster.

If you pull all the Gloss up, and replant, the Gloss will take longer since it needs to send out roots again.

Thanks! I already mowed the glosso lawn. Anyway, if it's not too much to ask, are the articles you mentioned about carpet plants pruning available online? Thanks!
